Keeping it short and sweet this month… with Lent starting, lots of liturgical living will be taking place everyday! Plus, while training for a new job while still finishing out the new one… a girl’s gotta be realistic…
March Liturgical Living
March 4 // St. Casimir – I’m cooking a unstuffed cabbage roll skillet in honor of this polish prince turned saint!
March 5 // Fat Tuesday – not a saint’s feast but still a traditional day of feasting in the Church. We’ll be eating a hearty & heavy meal of chicken parmesan to help us make it through the following day.
March 6 // Ash Wednesday – Mass (obviously), and pierogis for dinner (yay for more polish meals!)
March 7 // Sts. Perpetua & Felicity – I have a bunch of duplicate baby items just sitting around. I had planned on selling them, but instead, I’ve decided to donate everything to our local Pregnancy Center in honor of these martyred mothers. I think I’ll also wear red.

March 17 // St. Patrick – we’re a family of strong, Irish heritage… we’ll be wearing green and our claddagh rings; we’ll feast on shepherd’s pie or possibly fish &chips. We’ll listen to the Chieftans and perhaps make some Irish coffee… and we’ll probably watch a movie with an Irish feel to it (The Quiet Man, Leap Year, or P.S. I Love You)
March 19 // St. Joseph – one of my favorite feasts of the whole year! It’s a solemnity, meaning you can and should break your Lenten fast to celebrate. I think our family will celebrate with a little weeknight datenight.
March 25 // The Annunciation – my usual Marian feast go-tos: dress in blue & make blueberry pancakes.
How’s your own new year’s resolution going?
